GLOBE Rewards

Come April 3, 2010, my contract with Globe postpaid plan 800 will expire and yesterday i called Globe Customer Service for the Globe Rewards and they informed me that i can already avail the reward.

I was given two options:

1. Rebates of PhP 200 plus monthly for 24 months
2. Dual combo of celfone and Landline unlimited calls for 6 months

After a few words with the representative, i hung-up the phone and talk with hubby about it because he's the one using my postpaid line.

Initially, i thought of getting the rebates reward because i dont want the second option and say if i had a reward of PhP 250.00 for 24 months, that's a total of PhP 6,000.00 and since its plan 800.00 less the 250.00, i have the minimum bill of Php 550.00. But it never happen that i pay 800 in a month, its always more than 1K because my hubby use the line to call, he's so lazy in texting.

So, what i did was, I gave hubby my 2 options:

1. He apply for a Sun Cellular postpaid of plan 600.00 (since accdg to sun's rep, he's also qualified for this  plan)
2. Get the rebates from Globe and maintain his number but no new fone.

Well, if i were to choose among the options, id rather choose the Sun cellular postpaid. Why? First, if hubby can get the postpaid plan from Sun, im going to use his old phone for my Globe because my other unit is now busted because of frequent falls when tami is playing with it. Second is since hubby always call me on my sun number, then i can save for some $$$ because its unlimited call and text.

Hubby was thinking and he checked the Sun Cellular postpaid offers. When he come-up of his decision, i think he made the right one. What is it? He's going to apply for a Plan 350 like mine, then he will buy another fone on his birthday (he didnt want the unit thats been offered in Plan 600 thats why he chose the Plan 350). He wants the E-series from Nokia particularly the E72. And i dont want also to get higher plans just to have the fone.

As much as i wanted to apply for another line for hubby, i am not allowed anymore because i have 2 postpaid plan under my name, he has no choice but to apply for himself. Anyway, the Sun representative told us that his requirements (itr, coe, payslip, pob) are qualified for Plan 600.

Let's see...My main purpose here is to save for some $$$ thats why im pushing him to get the Sun postpaid...If he gets it, then im going to end my contract with Globe.

KFC's New Chewy Cheeze

Today, we bought 8 dvd's for our dvd marathon (thanks to piracy) haha...And we drop by at KFC for our breakfast and something to eat while watching movies.

tami's fave Krusher - strawberry yogurt - i also love this and instead of drinking softdrinks, we always chose this as an alternative.

We also bought the new Chewy Cheeze of KFC. It is launched recently and we are curious of this and we ordered two boxes just to check if what we saw in tv commercial is true..I love the packaging of this product because it is designed and shaped like a sliced cheese.

For just P50.00, you can enjoy this 8 pcs. cheese ball made of crunchy breading outside and mozzarela cheese inside...

Stolen shot from my hubby - well i guess this pic tells that its really chewy..

Just consume this snack immediately because its not that chewy when it gets cold.

Hubby and tami enjoying their kfc meal...

You can never go wrong with kfc. I love it :)

Weekend at Enchanted Kingdom

Sunday, March 21, 2010

My father-in-law ask the kids if they want to go at Manila Ocean Park, my sis-in-law and me butt in to their conversation that instead of Manila Ocean Park why not Enchanted Kingdom. And all of them agrees with our impromptu trip. At exactly 2:00pm, we all leave the house and Papa treated us to Enchanted Kingdom. The kids were all excited...

Enchanted Kingdom has been giving fun to Filipinos since 1994 and its one of the favorite park to families, friends, school field trips, etc. Ive been to this park twice with my family, once during our high school field trip, once with friends, and its now my third time with my hubby's family but i never get tired of going to this park because each visit brings memories to me and to others.

We are all 12 consists of 8 adults and 4 kids but since they're referring to height, 2 of the kids was billed as adult rate..All of us treated to a Ride-all-you-can tag.

Price of tickets are as follows:

Regular day / Weekend Rate (adult) - P500.00
                                               Kids - P320.00

Note: It is cheaper when you go there on weekdays :)

While waiting for our ticket, we took some photos outside...

Upon entering the park, dont forget to grab a copy of the map so you won't get lost..

First ride was the Carousel since it was the kids favorite. We also ride this because the park is not that crowded considering its Sunday.

Tami, hubby and Sean

The Swan - hubby got pissed off  because the control of the swan was broken...

We all ride here at the Flying fiesta except for tami and my mother-in-law...It was also a routine that after the Rio Grande Rapids which you will get wet, the next ride would be the flying fiesta because it will dry you up quickly :)

Wheel of Fate- tami was really scared of this. We even saw Cherry Pie Picache in line! She was very accomodating to other people and she's really not that fat. She's beautiful.

Our next stop is the Rialto, its one of our fave in EK.

We all occupied the front row...

Of all the rides that weve got, my really fave is the Rio Grande Rapids. We only missed riding the Anchor's Away and the Space Shuttle which now has 3 loops. EK also has Paint ball and Kart racing... Our ride-all-you can ticket was really worth it because we almost tried all the rides and even go back to where we like until we got exhausted.. haha

We also waited for the fireworks that shows at exactly 8pm. The park closes at 9pm and while waiting for the fireworks, we had dinner at EK's food court and we chose the Dimsum and Dumplings for our dinner. It also has Pizza Hut, Hotshots, Karate Kid, DQ, etc. We never skipped hotshots because its hubby's fave burger and we dine there during merienda.

Enchanted Kingdom truly leaves magic in you because my daughter keeps on saying "Mama, lets go back at EK tomorrow".. The kids really enjoyed the park...

Pictures at my multiply acount:

Tami's new toy

Im thinking of that 2 books that keeps tami busy last time. While on my way home, hubby texted me of the new toy (Spongebob game and watch) that tami is playing.

I never thought that game and watch is still existed. And in this case its only Spongebob games that has on it. Well, im not against it but having so much toy like this will distract childrens mind that instead of reading books, they only play and play until they get tired.

Tami is really spoiled with my in-laws...

Cj's invitation

I was tasked to send the invites here in Manila and it keeps me busy going from house to house of our relatives...hay... But its ok, its my contribution for my niece important event. She'll turn 7 on Saturday and tami's excited about it. We also had other celebration because 2 of my cousins will graduate in the next few days..

Advance happy Birthday CJ!!!

Also, i want to congratulate my cousin Marvil for graduating Civil Engineer in La Salle. Im so proud of you cuz!!!

Pamamanhikan..

Sorry i dont know the english term for that. Is it pamamanhikan or pamanhikan? Whatever!

Tomorrow will be the pamamanhikan of my cousin's boyfriend and i know they are all excited to be there! They got engaged last month in Baguio and now i heard that Pamamanhikan will takes place in Las Pinas, of course were all invited for dinner. I am so happy for both of them and finally my cousin will getting married very soon. Theyre planning of beach wedding on June. So many affairs to attend on June. Another celebration is my cousins 18th birthday.. But before i talk about the birthday, let me go back to pamamanhikan. Ill post another blog for my cousins 18th bday.

Uso pa ba ang pamamanhikan ngaun? hehe.. For sure, no more dowries or dower now! haha.. In this modern times, i think no more filipinos follow the old tradition...I googled about the old tradition of pamamanhikan here in the Philippines and i found out that the tradition is giving chicken or cows to the family or anything that they have...I cant imagine those if it happens tomorrow. haha...

I remember when pamamanhikan happens to me, my parents-in-law together with the family went to our house in BF Resort, its like having dinner party but the thing is, we just talked about the wedding, the plans and getting to know each others family. The funny thing is, we plan of tying the knot but i dont want the wedding to be in church, i told them that i want it to be civil. All i got from the reactions are all negative. Why? Because on my side, i am the first from the family to get wed and on my hubby's side is he's the only boy and he wants the wedding in church.. I guess im the only want who wants in civil kaya wala akong nagawa. The pamamanhikan happened around early 2005 and we plan of getting married then by 2006. I got pregnant around mid-year of 2005 thats why the wedding happens early. haha.. di na nakahintay!

Anyway, well be going there tomorrow for the celebration and to see what dowry or what dower will be given to my cousin's family..hehe..Ill wait for the chickens and cows..haha joke lang! But mind you, during their engagement, the boyfriend gave my cousin the new model of Louis Vuitton bag and wallet! Kuya Bing told me that because he accompany my cousin's boyfriend in LV outlet in Greenbelt and the bag and wallet costs him around P80K....whoa!

LG's LCD and Home Theater System

Yesterday, i was absent from work. Hubby and I went to Abenson to buy new LCD tv for our room. We stayed there for almost an hour to check among the 3 brands of which is good. The brands are Samsung, Sharp and LG. Among the three, Hubby and I have the same choice which is LG.

Why?

With picture contrast, LG has the highest contrast ratio of 60,000:1 unlike with the Samsung and Sharp with less than 30,000:1. Also, the panel board of LG is hard which is one of the important factor in buying an LCD.

With the prices, they are all discounted: LG is now at P27,900, Samsung is 25,900 while Sharp is P22,900. With the freebies, Samsung LCD comes with a Samsung DVD, Sharp comes with a dvd and speakers while LG doesnt have any free :(

Still, we choose the new LG LCD because the Specs are really good, the manager also offered us something...

Our new LG32LH20R

The LG manager offered us the LG HT554TM model Home theather system. The original price of this home theater system is P20,000++, Since we bought the new model of the LG lcd tv, he offered us a huge discount if we bought the home theater system in cash or straight payment using credit card.

The Home Theather system

All in all, the package price that we got for this two (LCD and Home theater system) is more than P39k plus P250.00 delivery to our house.

Do you think we got the good deal? Hubby is excited to try it. But were still waiting until tomorrow because Abenson staff will be the one to work or set-up the lcd because we want it to be wall-mounted.

MoneySense - a guide to investing

After eating at Brooklyn Pizza, we drop by at National Bookstore to look for something to read and i saw this magazine on the shelf. Im a beginner on investing and i always read any book or articles online about investments. Like what ive said on my previous post, i started investing last year and were planning to invest again this year. I want to try investing on stocks thats why im on the research stage on the flow of stock investing.

It is a high-risk investment so before you go into it, better searched and understand the risk involved here.

MoneySense magazine is really informative, i only read the first few pages and it really helps.

If you plan to invest dont forget to read and read until you understand the flow and risk of investment. There are so many articles online and there are also lots of book about it.. It will really help you a lot..

Brooklyn Pizza in Alabang Town Center

We went to Alabang Town Center to unwind, summer is approaching and we already feel the hot weather outside.

Me and my baby - di ako prepared nyan! haha...

After tami playing at the new wing playground and Timezone, we decided to have merienda and this time at Brooklyn Pizza located near the Cinemas.

Brooklyn Pizza serves thin and crispy style crusts. The menu is very limited to pizzas, chicken and salads. They also have pastas with choice of tomato based, cream based and oil based. Since tami loves white cheese pizza, everytime were on the mall, were always on the quest to look for the best white pizza and Brooklyn pizza does it pretty well.

What we order:

Bacon and Mushroom in cream based. We always loved the Carbonara so we decided to order this pasta. Priced at P210.00 good for 2 persons.

New Yorker White Pizza that consists of three cheeses namely: Mozzarella, Parmesan and Ricotta Cheese (P560.00)

Aside from the pasta and pizza, we also ordered Coke in Can for only P35.00 each. What i love about the brooklyn Pizza is the affordable prices, they serve really good food and importantly is the staff, they're very accomodating.

They also delivers in the metro..
Makati - 896.9696
Parañaque - 775.7575
Tomas Morato - 376.7676
Robinsons Place - 405.0505
Ortigas - 633.9999
Bicutan - 821.0000
Alabang - 850.9999

Goldilocks design

Last March 7, 2010 was my parents-in-laws wedding anniversary and were supposed to go swimming at Batangas. The outing was cancelled because my father-in-law has a client and he needs to stay somewhere in north for 1 week. To celebrate their special day, Mama cooked special food and my sister-in-law bought a cake in Goldilocks.

When i arrived at home, i noticed that Goldilocks change the color and the design of the box. It is color yellow before and now it is brown. I know they change the font but i never thought that even the design and the color will be changed too, nevertheless, its still attractive to customers.

Chocolate Mousse...

Happy Wedding Anniversary to Mama and Papa...

...talk about dreams and future...

When im on my way to office, i saw the New Suzuki Celerio on the road and i was like "OMG! i want to have that car!" but then again its just a dream for me now..

Talk about dreams and future...

Ever since I got married, my life has totally changed, partying with friends has stopped, travelling with relatives and friends lessen and most of all is shopping, i have to think of being a practical married woman. It's not that easy to adjust especially if your doing things like that since youre a kid, i know that hubby feels the same way but after some time, we realize that as a married couple, we have to think and decide as one for our family and for our future. All married couples or every individual has their own dreams and i/we have a lot actually.

HOUSE AND LOT

Every married couple is dreaming of their own house and lot and i am one of them. I also think of buying a condo unit as an investment. Hehe. Of course, i want to have my own place, that is, if we were only blessed with financial wealth. With this case, im the only one dreaming of having our own place because hubby told me not to think of it because he has their hiouse, he's the youngest of three and the only boy and he assume that their house that his parents built will become his own in the future. I dont want to rely on that because even if he is the only boy, its still the decision of his parents on where to give the property.

INVESTMENTS, SAVINGS and INSURANCE

Investment. I started having investment last year and now i am contemplating on where to get another one. There are lots of offers from insurance companies and banks and im still reviewing each plan of every company. Im still on the process of learning the flow of investments and were planning to put another one on my hubby's name before 2010 ends. **cross-finger**

Savings. This is one important thing if youre talking about building a family. Before we got married, hubby and I started our savings and we made sure that it will grow. When i gave birth, we put up a computer shop business and i became a stay-at-home-wife/mom but after 2 years we got bored and decided to sell the shop. Proceeds of the shop goes to our savings and now that we are working, we make sure that our savings will grow from time to time. We've been married for 4 years and our plans happen the way we want it.

Insurance. When i got my first job (i was 22 years old), first thing that i did was to get a life insurance and 2 more years, the insurance im paying will be fully-paid (yipee!). Thanks to my tita for encouraging me to get one. After my life insurance, we plan of getting another one and this time for hubby or maybe pension plan. Let's see.

CAR
Nowadays, its like every household has their own vehicle. My parents and sister-in-law's also has their own vehicle. In our case, we dont have one because of two reasons:

First and major reason is my hubby don't want to drive. He's comfortable of being a passenger. His license got expired 3 years ago and he never renewed it because of the same reason. He always told me that we dont need a new one because we can use my in-laws van if we want to and my father-in-law is so kind that if we need to go somewhere, he always drive for us. If you'll ask me, i study driving when i was in college but i never learned because i am scared of driving and i really got nervous. Its not my thing...pang-shopping lang talaga ko! haha

Second is we want to retire early. We can buy and afford a new car anytime if we want to but the thing is we want to secure our future first. We want to take advantage of our age, i want to save and invest as early as now so we can achieve more in the future. Hubby and I talk sometimes on when to buy our own car and were planning of 3 more years to save then we will buy our own car. Keeping my hopes up **cross-finger**.

If we were going to buy our own car, i only have 2 brands in my mind, Nissan and Suzuki. Most of our family carry the Nissan brand because my Uncle was one of the manager of Nissan before and they take advantage of the discounts and perks and what we love about the nissan is the aircon because its really cool. With the suzuki, i like it because its from Japan and we all know that japan-made is proven of quality.

Our future is our priority right now aside from the fact that we are saving for our daughter's schooling thats why we save as much as we can but we make sure that we also enjoy and indulge on some luxuries like travelling and buying what we want. Right now, i only think of two words: SAVE and ENJOY :)

Online shopping

Recently, i learned from my officemate that her friend always buy goods online like Ebay. I remember that i have an account in ebay before but i was blocked or banned because i attempt to bid and won the item but never pay for it. Im a fickle minded person and sometimes when it comes to shopping, i always had second thoughts on buying items. Online shopping is now the trend because it's so hassle-free, you just buy online and they will deliver the item right at your doorstep.

Last week, i checked Ebay and looked for some new items. There are so many sellers of new and used bag in ebay and branded bags comes with a hefty price tag. I saw a pink Kate Spade bag which i love on ebay and the price is P2,500, one of the description says its authentic, i checked some pictures and i was having doubt of its authenticity because Kate Spade price ranges from 8K above here in the Philippines unless you bought it in US that you can get it for at least $120 or almost P6K in our currency, out of curiosity i texted the seller and ask some question to know if its really authentic. After exchanging some texts with the seller, i found out that its not really authentic. If you love shopping online, be careful in choosing an item especially the bags, now that there are lots of imitation. Scrutinize the item first before you decide...

I checked out some stuff and found this new belt from Bass.. at first i was hesitant to buy this because of the size, im fat and im not sure if it fits me but since the seller sells this for a cheaper price compared to mall, i bought this and waited for 2 days to arrive.

I love the design of this belt.. cant wait to use it!

I am now collecting belt because i only have 3 belts. I decided to stop buying bags and footwear for the meantime because i dont have space anymore in my closet. It means that i need to arrange again my things to give new space for new ones :)

Baguio's Famous Pasalubong

One of the must-have when you go to a place is to buy pasalubong or try its delicacies. Baguio has many things to offer and the famous of all is the Strawberry and Fresh Vegetables...Whenever i go to Baguio, i never failed to buy strawberries and veggies and some delicacies like:

Good Shepherd's Ube Jam

Good shepherd's Ube Jam is the best and of all the Ube Jam in Baguio, it is the only jam that tastes good.. Its ready to eat and its so yummy.. You can go to Good Shepherd's place or you can buy this Ube Jam at any stalls in market or pasalubong center.

Good Shepherd's Strawberry Jam

I also like the strawberry jam in Good shepherd because it has lots of preserved strawberries, its a bit expensive nga lang if you bought this at Good Shepherd. Price is P230.00.

PEANUT BRITTLE

Of all the Peanut brittle in baguio, i like Romana Peanut Brittle the most.. Price is P135.00

LENGUA DE GATO

Lengua de gato is also famous for pasalubong, you can buy it at 4 pcs for P100.00... You can choose any brand of Lengua, there are also some flavors like pandan, ube etc.. but the plain lengua is still the best!

There you have it... If you're in Baguio for a vacation or some business trip, dont forget to buy some pasalubong and try the best..
